Bio

With every word and every note, it becomes clear that Jim Mullin puts his heart and soul into his music. His latest creation is a 4 song EP – Every Part of You. The lyrics speak to the heart and create a sense of déjà vu through stories that everyone has dreamed about or has experienced. From the euphoric feelings of unconditional love to the heart wrenching emotions you experience in life.

This CD provides a sound and a message for everyone. It’s easy to understand why Every Part of You has inspired marriage proposals - simple yet powerful lyrics accompanied by the romantic sounds of acoustic guitar, piano, cellos and violins. “The Little Things” delivers a rock pop sound through a message of hopes and dreams that people have for their loved ones. “Believe” brings us into a funk rock sound and a vibration similar to Lenny Kravitz style with a Joe Cocker-esque vocal track. This song is the essence of the drive that Jim Mullin possess.

Jim’s love and passion for music came at an early age. At the age of 12 years old, Jim Mullin bought his first turn table and quickly learned how to create a distinctive, addictive sound. By 15, he had his own DJ Company with 4 employees. As the business grew, Jim kept it fresh by starting a dance troupe and rap group. Within a year, Jim was booked with a steady stream of gigs and was highly sought after by every night club in Dallas. The night clubs provided a steady outlet for Jim’s need to entertain. Night after night, he packed clubs with loyal followers. Night Clubs became a way of life for Jim and he soon spiraled down a dark and twisted path. Jim's life quickly fell apart, with no one else to turn to, Jim began writing music. He has captured the raw emotion of his journey through heart felt words in over 200 songs to date.

He the relocated to Boca Raton and began working on his first album. He hooked up with an old school blues and jazz producer named Darryll Dobson. Dobson, best known for his tribute to Jimmy Hendrix, introduced Jim to a variety of sounds. Together they searched for the best way to deliver the passion of Jim’s lyrics. After two years, Jim Mullin never released his first solo album "Trials and Tribulations".

Less than pleased with the finished product, Jim redirected his passion for music into a career in radio. While attending college during the day, he picked up the on-air overnight shift at a rock radio station in West Palm Beach, The Buzz (WPBZ FM). He made fast friends with his likeable personality and station management soon convinced him to take a sales position. As with everything, Jim was driven to succeed and quickly climbed the corporate ladder. By the time he was 25, he was running a radio station in Denver.

While radio kept Jim close to music, it never satisfied his appetite to entertain. He continued to seek out opportunities to perform at coffee shops and open mic nights. It was at a local jazz showcase that Jim met AJ Parham. Parham possessed an amazing voice that could be sultry, gritty and soulful at the same time. He introduced Jim to new styles in music and emphasized the need to find a unique sound to call your own.

Jim’s radio career brought him to Chicago and he started the search for a new life and a new sound. Jim attended a "Creed" show in 2000 and was mesmerized by the explosive guitars and the powerful vocals that captured the audience. The contagious energy of the crowd was overwhelming and Jim knew that it was time to return to the stage. The next day he posted an ad for a band and received a call from Charlie Costa within hours.

Weeks later, Flood Ritual was born. The name of the band needed to have meaning to Jim. So he researched the history of music and discovered the history of Rituals. In ancient times, people used Flood Ritual's to call the Gods. Some say it was the creation of music. Over the last 4 years, Flood Ritual has earned support and recognition in Chicago and throughout the United States. In 2004 they were recognized as the "Best Rock Band" by the New York Music Festival. In 2005 the song "Amazing" won best rock alternative composition in the Billboard World Song Awards. Through a licensing deal with MTV and Bunnim Murray Productions, Flood Ritual can be heard on "The Real World", "Road Rules" and "Inferno 2".

Every Part of You represents a difficult stage in Jim’s life that caused him to question everything he believed in.
